What happens on Sunday

Each Sunday, the Candidates and Catechumens come to
Mass and celebrate the Liturgy of the Word with the
parish community. At the conclusion of this part of
the Mass, they are then dismissed with a blessing to
go and further reflect together on the meaning the
Word of God has for their lives.
A member of the parish who volunteered for this
ministry serves as a
Catechist, or
instructor. Other members serve as
Sponsors
for the Candidates and Catechumens. These sponsors
journey with them as they travel toward becoming
Catholic.
Following this reflection on the Word, the
Candidates, the Catechumens, their sponsors, and
their Catechist adjourn for some refreshments.
Following this, they begin a presentation and
discussion regarding some aspect of the Catholic
faith.
